In recent years, a musically sophisticated festival has developed from a growing DJ scene in Bremerhaven, which is now entering its second round this year. And POP Office is there this year! On Thursday, August 15, from 4 p.m., we will provide information on site about our work, the PLAYTIME funding project — in addition, club operators will be available to answer questions from guests. Afterwards, from 6 p.m., we will present a line-up of talented DJs from Bremen and Bremerhaven together with the NEUS Festival.

We would like to answer your questions about booking.
How do you get booked as an artist? How does a booking agency work? How do concert venues, clubs and festivals create their line-ups? And how can you promote yourself advantageously for these line-ups? Should you wait for booking requests, or can you become active yourself – even without an agency? When and how do you negotiate contracts and fees? And what does EPK even stand for? We have invited three experts who will shed light on this essential topic for musicians with you from different perspectives. At this POPup MEETup, you can sit down with the three bookers Karo, Kira and Vanessa and ask your questions directly – whether you are in bands, DJs, solo artists or even a booker yourself – so that you can find your way onto the stage. This time we are presenting Sibb as a showcase.
POPup MEETup — Funding Programs 2024
Although many funding opportunities have shrunk or even disappeared due to the end of Corona aid and the Federal Constitutional Court’s ruling on the federal budget, there are still nationwide funding programs this year that you should keep an eye on all the more urgently. So that you can spend your time in the studio or rehearsal room – and not with lengthy online research – we will give you an overview of all relevant funding pots that are suitable for you and a first preview of the POP Office Bremen projects in 2024. Don’t miss!
Winter holidays
After an intensive year in 2023, the POP Office team needs a little recharge to be able to start 2024 with full batteries. The team will therefore be on holiday from 22.12.23 to 15.1.24. Even if your messages and emails remain unanswered until mid-January, you can still take advantage of the counselling pool.
MUSIC MEET UP 2023
On November 25, 2023, our first Music Meet Up will take place, a conference and networking day for the local music scene. At this event, we want to connect, inform, and mutually inspire musicians, producers, label people, event organizers, music journalists and enthusiasts — in short: the Bremen music scene. There will be an exciting program of panel talks and keynotes on highly topical issues: We will be talking to our guests about the state of the Bremen music scene, artificial intelligence, and antisemitism in the music scene. Admission is free and you don’t need to register! Just come along and spend a nice and stimulating day with us!
